2017 Audi TT Redesign and Specs
2017 Audi TT – After waiting for five years, the 2017 Audi TT will include RS trim in its lineup. The new RS -refers to “Racing Sport”- is a redesigned version of the previously launched 2012 model year. There are some changes along with the power increase.
The new design can be seen from the RS prototype which was caught undergoing testing in its homeland. How will the next RS generation look like? Will the changes on the RS affect the TT series in general? We’ll try to uncover the new 2017 TT in more detail below.
2017 Audi TT Exterior Design
The Audi TT is a coupe, a two-door sedan which holds only two passengers. For the next 2017 TT model year, Audi has not disclosed any hint about it. While the RS trim is going to be redesigned, the base trim and the sport type will probably bear similar design to the previous.
We can only make a prediction here. The TT will have that typical hexagonal grille with thick horizontal slats as accent. The headlights will have a trapezoid-like shape. The rest will come standard.
As for the RS, we’ll see the grille with honeycomb accent. The newly multi designed split-spoke wheels will replace the starfish-like wheels. On the rear part, we see dual rounded exhaust tips have bigger size than those of TT base.
The new Audi TT will likely offer bright and bold colors like blue, red, yellow, black and silver.
2017 Audi TT Interior
The TT is a high-class coupe that puts great emphasis in blending comfort, luxury and sportiness. We will find the leathered steering wheel and gear shifter plus heated and adjustable seats made from high quality materials. The dashboard center console has several disc-shaped equipment. The screen is placed behind the steering wheel instead at the center console.
The infotainment system will present the newest version of Audi MMI. For safety, this car will have multiple airbags, automatic braking, traction control, stability control and a lot more.
2017 Audi TT Specs
The 2.0-L, four–cylinder TDI engine will be used to bring the Audi TT alive. This engine will produce 220 horsepower and twisting 270 pounds per feet.
Another engine, the 2.5 liter displacement with five-cylinder will have a place under the TT RS hood. The engine is able to put out about 400 ponies via 7-speed dual clutch transmission. AWD will become standard. This makes the RS meets Porsche Cayman and Chevrolet Corvette in a relentless competition.
2017 Audi TT Release Date and Price
There is no official announcement from Audi regarding the TT series release. The price for the TT coupe will be around $44,000, $53,000 for TTS and $60,000 for TT RS.
